a mole, a possum, and.......

you tell me. actually there are two of them. can you find them?

I love this warm weather. one of the things I miss most about NY summers is the warm evenings. I miss sleeping with the windows open. so since tonight was a warm one, I opened up the windows and doors.

I have a fabulous patio that runs the entire length of my condo. I have dozens of plants -- flowers, herbs, trees, vines, veggies, good stuff. and I have a little fountain outside my bedroom window that drowns out the city/highway/airport noises (or so I fool myself).

as I was sitting in bed tonight, half watching a movie, half working on the laptop, I heard a rustling outside my window and the fountain was making a strange noise. I muted the DVD but couldn't tell what it was. so I turned on the light, went out onto the patio and what did I see?

of course, Julie, the vicious guard dog, didn't hear or smell a thing at the time, but now she's out there rustling in the plants trying to find our visitors. I think they were fishing for salmon in the fountain. I'm certain they're long gone.

Napa, Schnapa. Oh yeah. Been busy this week. The riding was fabulous. Beware a tour designed by a man who is 5' 10" and weighs 135 pounds. Major, major climbing. The guests were fun. The accomodations and dining were amazing. I have great tan lines now. And I was nice all week. There you go, Renevatio. I'll try to post my photos when I've got a spare minute.

Ippoc -- they were totally cute, although it's always a little scary to see raccoons in your personal space. they have such long claws, I imagine they could put some major hurt on.

they were kinda "stuck" behind a few of the pots. I didn't realize there were two of them until I looked at the photos.

and I think they were babies. last time I had masked visitors they were HUGE. these two were pretty little.

It's not the claws, it's the teeth! The babies are adorable, though...I remember someone coming to the rehab center with a box filled with squirming baby raccoons. It might have been the cutest thing I've ever seen.

ooh! maybe there were three. if you look to the right of the pot, next to the fountain, you can see a little raccoon butt. it looks to far away to be the butt of one of the two we can see.

You were not aware of Terry's penchant for hills? I think it was the year before he started the tour company that he had the goal of climbing 1 Million feet of elevation gain in the year, then increased it to 1.056 Million feet when it was pointed out that was the nice round figure of 200 miles. And he made it with time to spare ....

CR, I was. And actually, only two of the days were super-killer. We had several "quotes" on the tour we found amusing.

"I only calculate the elevation gain on the major climbs" -- this after we all realized the mileage on his turn sheets was correct but the gain was off by, oh 25% or more.

"it's all downhill from here" -- at a point where we still climbed over 3,000' on "rollers"

Racoons are like little prowlers. They will get into and steal anything.

raccoons used to come in thru our cat door and eat all our cat food and make a big dirty mess. my roommate threw a toilet roll at one and it just bounced off its chest.

that's a cut pic.

I think you are right, I saw the body sitting behind the other pot.

Thanks for coming out and enduring the Tri-Valley sun today.
It actually got hotter after 3:00.

Let me know about the tour thing.
